How do crafts connect women across generation? How can we embody the physicality of wool and thread and the connections build through them?
During my stay in Finland I explored crafts and their influence on the connections we make as women: through generations passing down their craft, through learning and working together and on a global level through the industry of thread and textile production.
In collaboration with PDF Dance Theatre
I got to reserach local traditions of crafts(wo)manship and how these can be translated into the body. What are associated physicalities, how do they translate into the body? Also: how can the material of wool and thread by incorporated into the dance?
